Feminine gamification viewpoint: Olympic ladies

Feminine gamification viewpoint: Olympic ladies

45% of this years athletes in the Olympics in Rio are female. The chances of a female being asked superficial questions about their hair or receiving comments about it on social media is a lot higher than for any male athlete. A video that was floating around on my Facebook feed made this point quite clearly. I would love to share it here, but for some reason it is not available. In my search for it however the amount of times I found results for female hot athletes, was rather disgusting, it trumped any focus on their achievements.

It made the message in the Facebook video by attn: however even more important to share.

The effort it takes to qualify to compete for your country at an Olympics is enormous. It is that effort and the results created that should be the focus of celebration. In the first place these women have achieved amazingly to qualify and even more so when they win a medal.

When speaking about them I would encourage you to focus on those amazing feats as opposed to anyone’s look. If you wouldn’t ask a guy in the same situation, then don’t ask a girl. It doesn’t seem too hard if you ask me.

I did find this funny one, with the same hard message though:

Let’s get this respectful sharing started. My favourite female athlete is Jessica Ennis, the heptathlete. I admire her focus and how she deals with variations in her performance. To be great at so many events and maintain a top level in my view is amazing. I also love the fact she is such a motivator for others too.

Who is the female athlete you admire most for her sports efforts?
