Gamification Mechanic Monday: Free Lunch
In sports tournaments when one of your opponents drops out for whatever reason, injury, illness, or other, players receive a walkover or bye to the next game. When a friend enters a competition and they win a prize for them and a few friends and you are one of the chosen few friends, you are also the beneficiary of a free lunch.
In business this can be a good tactic to invite people who wouldn’t normally engage with your brand together with someone who clearly does, because otherwise they wouldn’t have entered your challenge.
